Foyer Idea

I still have the curio cabinet…seems Discount wanted to rent me a smart car. I drive a smart car and wanted to rent something bigger in order to bring the smart car up north to my brother and bring the pups along with me. So I still have the curio. I am replanning the visit to happen during the September long weekend.

I found this photo of a foyer and I love the open, airy look of it.

Until I actually get to see my foyer, I don’t know how open it will be (or bright and airy for that matter) but I wanted to save the photo for reference.

Supposedly letters were mailed out last week for the last half of the building with new occupancy and PDI dates. I’ve yet to receive anything…

I’m glad I can be a pretty patient person (at least in some areas of my life).

Lazy Me

So supposedly I am suppose to receive, sometime this week, another letter of tentative occupancy for my condo. Who wants to wager that they’ve moved it from December 17th to late January or mid February? Anyone?

I really need to get my act together and really start purging my apartment. No sense moving things I don’t use or that will end up trash there. Before I know it, time to move will be upon me and I will still have an apartment full of stuff I don’t use and no place to put it in the new place.

To do:

  1. Take photos of items to sell on craigslist
  2. Go through office desk drawers and get rid of the bazillion of pens/highlighters
  3. Go through TV stand drawers and do same
  4. Clean balcony, couch and garbage bags to downstairs trash
  5. Go through already cleaned storage room and go through boxes this time
  6. Purge kitchen cupboards
  7. Curio cabinet to go to Bobby, Pam or Lisa, email Bobby first
  8. Clean inside of car
Future Home Update!

Rumours are abound that the crane comes off our building on either Tuesday or Wednesday – how exciting! Also, only one more residential floor of glass left (that is my floor!) and then Strata (rooftop lounge) and then we were all glassed up!

The other rumours that were floating around the last couple of weeks was about a strike going on but we found out this week that the strike was diverted and all is good. So does this mean I may be back to a December move in date? Only time will tell…

One Hole vs. Two Hole

This week I called the builder to have the standard faucet put back into my ensuite washroom. When I had originally hadmy decor appointment I had not had them put it in the washroom as I didn’t like their standard faucet and I was going to buy my own and have my father install it.

I have been looking at quite a few Moen faucets and found a few I like but then with my father not at his best health wise I thought it best that I have a faucet in the bathroom when I move in. Seems though that the standard faucet does not fit on my upgraded vanity top (it is a two whole faucet and my vanity top is a one whole) and I have no washroom sink faucet, lol. Hopefully Dad will be well when I get to move in (whenever that may be as there is rumours now that the last set of owners will be moving in at the end of January 2011). Good thing my tub faucet works…I will at least be able to have showers :)

My condo building is coming along nicely. 3 to 4 more floors of glass depending on what side of the building you’re looking at. The crane should be coming down soon as they (the builders) will want it for their next project in Burlington.

The first set of tenants are moving in in July and I cannot wait to hear about their experiences from their PDIs to moving in. I have been reading up on condo PDIs and it appears I can bring my father as a designate which is great as I know he will catch more deficiencies than me as I will just be awestruck at finally having my own place again, lol.

My building also has two amenity floors that will have an exercise room with various fitness equipment, a yoga studio, inside pool, outside hot tub, etc.

I just want ensuite laundry, to be able to do a load whenever I want to. That sounds like heaven.
