I love Style at Home magazine. It is quite an expensive magazine at $6.22 including tax but I still buy it, not every month but enough that when a coworker’s child was selling magazine subscriptions and I saw it for $25 including tax and shipping for 12 issues, I bought it. That is a $1.84/magazine! I am still awaiting my first issue so when I was inline at the grocery store last night I picked up the issue.

I found this lamp…looks ordinary right? But it has a removeable top with a rubber cap that allows you to fill the bottom glass cavity with anything you choose! Style at Home showcased the lamps using food colouring and water. They were lovely and I liked that you could change them on the fly. And obviously it doesn’t stop at water! Pepples, sand (different colours?), fall leaves, shells, etc.

Pretty Pictures

As I see the condo move up floor by floor I find myself bookmarking lots of sites and taking screen captures of things I like or would love to do. My desktop is filled with screen captures right now that I need to file…I don’t like a cluttered desktop :)

I Say Couch, You Say…

I need a new couch. The couch I had my eye on is no longer available so I seem to have switched gears and am now moving towards leather. Leather is easy to clean and won’t collect dog hair. But I normally cannot stand the typical leather couches, big oversized and just poofy.

I found three options so far and they are all from The Brick.

Option 1

Option 2

Option 3

I was thinking of going off-white and Option 1 is called Ivory and Option 2 is called Pearl. There are a couple of reasons for me going light. My future condo living room is not large (17’6″ x 10’2″), my floor will be quite a dark hardwood and my TV unit is espresso colour. And even though my one wall is all windows (floor to ceiling), I just don’t want everything to be dark.

But I would need to see the off-white colours in person as today when I looked at the couches at work they appeared different than what I saw at home, especially option 1 as it looked tonnes better! So what do you think?

Swoon!

Toilets

I have been working on a domain I have owned since Aug 08 for my future home. A site I hope that becomes a place for my neighbours to gather and chat about our home. Designing the website has me once again thinking about my unit and of course all aspects interior design including reviewing Toto toilets! We use Toto’s at work and I think they are great. They have sensors so I don’t have to touch anything for it to flush. That would be lovely to have in my home.

Supposedly my toilets will be low flows, maybe not Toto’s but livable all the same.
