This ‘n That

Today at work I found out that one of my coworkers is 12 weeks pregnant. I am sooooooo happy for her she is the nicest person I know and she’s had some health complications over the years that haven’t allowed her to even think about children. The good news spread around our office like wild fire and also to our other agencies and I am sure she was bombarded with congrats for the remainder of the afternoon.

In weather news, I am trying to figure out just where the summer went. One day it was 33C and the next it was 19C, too quick a change not to notice. Oh and the wind we have been having as of late doesn’t help either.

I notice with the onset of September has come advertisements for ‘winter’ air fresheners (cinnamon & apple), diamond engagement rings (propose at Christmas!) and tropical vacations.

Tropical vacations…what I wouldn’t give to go away to the Dominican for week, sounds lovely! But not until next year, until I’m in my condo and my finances are secure.

Speak of my condo, the first residents move in tomorrow – how exciting!

Happy Pills Where For Art Thou

I went off my happy pills on my own a few weeks ago and I have to tell you I am *this* close going back on them. My mood swings have been wicked and the downs right now (for no good reason) have been really down and I don’t like this back and forth going on.

There’s nothing wrong at work or out of work but damn if I can stop the bitchiness and the feeling of being overwhelmed and burnt out.

I have taken Wed, Thu and Fri off next week in hopes of regrouping especially for work. There is no time to breakdown considering year end is just around the corner.

I still have my prescription refills and I may just get back on them…I much preferred the evenness I felt. These ups and downs are killing me.

I Am Raising A Giant

Elvis has a quickie vet appointment tonight. He had to get weighed so they could give me the 2nd half of his heart worm meds as back in April/May they weren’t sure what his size was going to be. Elvis and myself walk into the office tonight and we here “Elvis, you have grown! You’re not a 3/4 pug mix you’re a giant pug!”. Seriously folks…I think he is mixed with some giant dog breed as my 7.5 month old dog is bigger than Bruiser who is 1/2 puggle and 1/2 beagle who is 2.5 months year old.

I have been trying to contact a human at the OSPCA to get an appointment to get my giant neutered to no avail. Since they don’t allow messages I just have to keep trying. I’m hoping with neutering goes the urge to make friends with his bed on a regular nightly interval.

On a different note, I’ve been looking at some accredited online schools and thinking of getting in some US accounting/business courses under my belt. I am sure we do business like the US and that they have some form of GAAP (generally approved accounting principles) but I’m thinking of just doing a couple to double check. Maybe even a SOX one.

Though with year end approaching (Sep 30), any courses I may wish to take won’t be until the new year. And with the new year comes the new place. So maybe next summer? LOL.

It’s 9:18pm and I’m zonked, I think I’m going to post this and maybe call it a night.

Smart or Dumb?

I have an iPhone 4 and I love it. I had an iPhone 3G prior so I really notice a speed difference on of the phone. I like that it can take HD video and takes really great photos and it has basically replaced my digital camera. Before switching to the iPhone last year I did read a lot of cell phone reviews. I wasn’t sure if I really needed a smart phone and did I really need to be able to surf the web with it?

The answer is yes! When I was in line waiting to buy my iP4 I was able to search out other stores in case I was not the right number in line to pick up the phone that day. When I was at Petsmart last weekend and realized that ‘moving to another location’ meant they had nothing, I quickly launched Safari and found the next nearest Petsmart and then entered their address into mapquest mobile and off I went listening to the phone tell me to turn right or turn left when it came time too.

I will also be using it to get me to Petawawa next weekend as I head to visit my Dad and brother. And I know…that if I do get lost, I have my phone to save me.

My 3G? Going to my brother – he’s very excited and I am excited for him :)

Christmas Shopping?!?!

So who has started their Christmas shopping? I will be honest and say that I do it all last minute so I am quite floored by those who start basically on December 26th. A co-worker and I were talking about our weekend that had just passed and she noted she had picked up some gifts already for the holiday season.

This year the pups and I will be heading to Petawawa to join my brother and my father. I will be renting a vehicle as I don’t think Buttercup could handle all the snow they get and besides…I’d like to arrive with my life. Oh…and with gifts. If you put me and the dogs in Buttercup with our bags for a couple of days – there is no room for anything else.

For Dad this year I am thinking of using online printing services to create a photo book for him of family. And i think I may do one for me of Bruiser and Elvis; a small coffee table book for the new place.

But um…I won’t be doing any of this shopping, even if it is online until at least November!
