When I leave space between me and the next car…it is for my use. It is that small space we all learn in driver’s training is for safety, to give us time to stop suddenly if necessary. It is not for you to edge your nose into suddenly to come into my lane, which I might add is not going any faster than the one you just came from!

Just because we have a HOV lane now on the 403 does not mean that you must immiately get onto it as soon as you get on the highway. You should not stop traffic (albiet very slow moving traffic) so that you can edge your nose into someone’s personal space to get over an additional two lanes and then once again stop while you wait for an opportunity to enter the HOV. Also, I should note at this time, that those double lines with the diagonal line running through it? Yes…those – they mean you should not be crossing over them to enter the HOV, I don’t care if you have two people in your car, continue driving and wait for the dashed lines giving you the okay to enter the HOV.

When using the HOV lane and your exit is coming up…plan! Don’t signal right at your exit – once again blocking traffic because you couldn’t get your idiot self over at 1-2km back when you were notified by the big green signs that your exit was coming up. Don’t stop in the HOV lane…MERGE…when you can.

Please stop riding your brakes!

Don’t throw your cigarettes out the window!

Stop doing your makeup in the car! Stop texting! Stop talking on the cell phone.
