Marital Bliss

My best friend’s 15 wedding anniversary is this month. She and hubby are heading to Vegas and I’m so jealous – I would love to join them, there is still a lot of Vegas I haven’t seen!

I remember her wedding vividly and I think it is also that start of the decline of my boyfriend and I’s relationship as we had been together for 3 years by then and all our friends were getting married starting with this wedding. I had so much fun planning the shower and my bf and I also planned the stag and doe and I still remember both events pretty well.

I cannot remember what the groomsman got as their gifts from the groom but I did get a nice gold bracelet as a thank you for being in the wedding and I still have it. Actually it is only one of two, gold pieces of jewelry I own, another being a gold necklace my grandmother got me for 18th birthday.

I’m pretty much sure no aisle is in my future but it is interesting to see that ideas for a gift for your best man hasn’t changed much though maybe has gotten a wee bit better.

To my best friend and her hubby…I wish her another 15 times 2.

Car Insurance Woes

It is nice (in a bad way) to know that I am not the only one who got hit with a large increase in auto insurance premiums when I moved here to Mississauga. My monthly cost went up $40! This year I took a stand and from a carinsurancelist I got off of a board I frequent, I was able to bring my premiums down by $800 a year which is no small drop in the bucket.

So being a nice neighbour I gave him my insurance contact and hopefully he can save too.

Doggy Dress Up?

Oh my goodness I am tired! If I closed my eyes right now I’d be sleeping for sure. But instead I am trying to peruse blogs about the new Apple updates and read up on iOS 4.1 to see what new goodies it will bring to my iP4 :) Today was brain draining at work and tomorrow will be as well – I need to get nice and rested up for my 6 hour drive to see my father and brother on Friday (hopefully only a half day of work).

I’m trying to decide whether or not to dress up the pups for Hallowe’en. The dogpark I got to is having a Hallowe’en dog party and I just don’t know. I thought of just buying two big bow ties and calling it a day. This would a) keep costs low and b) easy on the boys since they are use to wearing things around their neck when we’re out anyways.

If you have animals…do you dress them up on occasion?

I Am Raising A Giant

Elvis has a quickie vet appointment tonight. He had to get weighed so they could give me the 2nd half of his heart worm meds as back in April/May they weren’t sure what his size was going to be. Elvis and myself walk into the office tonight and we here “Elvis, you have grown! You’re not a 3/4 pug mix you’re a giant pug!”. Seriously folks…I think he is mixed with some giant dog breed as my 7.5 month old dog is bigger than Bruiser who is 1/2 puggle and 1/2 beagle who is 2.5 months year old.

I have been trying to contact a human at the OSPCA to get an appointment to get my giant neutered to no avail. Since they don’t allow messages I just have to keep trying. I’m hoping with neutering goes the urge to make friends with his bed on a regular nightly interval.

On a different note, I’ve been looking at some accredited online schools and thinking of getting in some US accounting/business courses under my belt. I am sure we do business like the US and that they have some form of GAAP (generally approved accounting principles) but I’m thinking of just doing a couple to double check. Maybe even a SOX one.

Though with year end approaching (Sep 30), any courses I may wish to take won’t be until the new year. And with the new year comes the new place. So maybe next summer? LOL.

It’s 9:18pm and I’m zonked, I think I’m going to post this and maybe call it a night.

The boys

These are my dogs. Bruiser is on the left and Elvis is on right. This photo was taken today at the dog park.

Bruiser is a beagle/pug (50/50) mix and Elvis is suppose to be the same though reported to be 3/4 pug and remainder beagle. However, he is taller and wider than Bruiser and he is 7.5 months old!

I fear I have a horse in disguise on my hands, lol.
