Rain, Rain, Go Away!

inMa Vie

(comments are closed)

This week was kind of depressing, weather wise with almost 5 days of rain. I heard that the average sun hours in May per week are 55…we had 9 by Thursday, so yes – grey, gloomy and wet!

It wasn’t too bad yesterday and even after work it was sunny but there was no way I was taking the pups to the dog park yet, since the area would still be wet and muddy. Today though, that is where we went. The park was pretty dry and there was only one area that because of a bit of an indentation the ground had, there was a bit of a smelly, water/mud pit. Thankfully, it was not in the normal area the dogs tend to congregate in, but a few dogs did find it and their owner’s were none too pleased, lol.

Bruiser and Elvis stayed out so that was good.

Tomorrow it is suppose to rain…again. Oh and Monday too. Monday is a holiday here in Ontario and generally this weekend is suppose to start off the summer, no such luck here with all the rain. Today’s weather though? Superb :)

If the weather stays this way much longer, I’m going to need to invest in a S.A.D. lamp, lol.

My Pups :)

I love these guys to death. They certainly make my life very interesting and I really couldn’t imagine a life without them. Elvis with his “there is only me” attitude and Bruiser who is my ‘old soul’, rule my little world :)

A Weekend @ Home

inMa Vie

(comments are closed)

This weekend was loverly and I finally felt ‘home’ which is odd to say when I’ve been here since Feb 16th. Saturday was a very lazy day but we (the pups and I) did get out as we went to PetSmart to get them stinky penis (aka beef pizzle/cow penis) which is their favourite treat. We then came back to veg and do some laundry (I love my ensuite laundry).

Today I got up on my own (after the 7:30am pee break) around 11am, did a bit more laundry and then the pups and I went to the dog park. As it is now late winter/early spring it is the dirty season and I knew heading out that the dogs were going to be filthy upon our return. I put on some wind paints, boots and brought a towel and off we went.

The above photo is Elvis…his first real play in the mud and it was fun to watch him at first as he would lift up his paws covered in mud and look at them as if to say “what the hell is that?”. Bruiser is used to it, though it may have been a year since his last experience with mud. I just figured that they hadn’t been at the dog park since before the move to the condo and we used to go both Saturday and Sunday. So I was willing to go through the inconvenience of having to bath two dirty dogs, lol.

Both loved the mud, neither really liked the bath but they accepted their fate and then snoozed for a good 3 hours.

As for the hour loss of sleep…didn’t seem to affect me at all today. As for tomorrow, only time will tell.

I Am Raising A Giant

inMa Vie

(comments are closed)

Elvis has a quickie vet appointment tonight. He had to get weighed so they could give me the 2nd half of his heart worm meds as back in April/May they weren’t sure what his size was going to be. Elvis and myself walk into the office tonight and we here “Elvis, you have grown! You’re not a 3/4 pug mix you’re a giant pug!”. Seriously folks…I think he is mixed with some giant dog breed as my 7.5 month old dog is bigger than Bruiser who is 1/2 puggle and 1/2 beagle who is 2.5 months year old.

I have been trying to contact a human at the OSPCA to get an appointment to get my giant neutered to no avail. Since they don’t allow messages I just have to keep trying. I’m hoping with neutering goes the urge to make friends with his bed on a regular nightly interval.

On a different note, I’ve been looking at some accredited online schools and thinking of getting in some US accounting/business courses under my belt. I am sure we do business like the US and that they have some form of GAAP (generally approved accounting principles) but I’m thinking of just doing a couple to double check. Maybe even a SOX one.

Though with year end approaching (Sep 30), any courses I may wish to take won’t be until the new year. And with the new year comes the new place. So maybe next summer? LOL.

It’s 9:18pm and I’m zonked, I think I’m going to post this and maybe call it a night.

Expensive Chew Toys…

inUncategorized

(comments are closed)

I had to run to Walmart today so I could pick up a remote for the bedroom TV as Elvis thinks it is a chew toy…

This is my fourth universal remote plus let us not forget the original one that came with the TV, that Bruiser destroyed. It is not like I leave them laying around, kind of. With Bruiser I could leave it under a pillow in the bedroom and all would good in my world.

Elvis, removes all four pillows off the bed every.single.day (and brings them to the foyer I might add) and found the remotes (tv and dvd player which I’m not replacing). Another time I put it in my malm side table shelf which obviously is not Elvis proof.

Let’s see how long this one lasts (yes this photo is the one I bought this time).

If it makes you feel better my older dog did both remotes AND cellphones. Multiple remotes and multiple cell-phones (including my mother-in-laws) that I had borrowed for the day because she’d (meaning my dog) had just chewed up mine! Ran in the house and had to use the restroom real quick, threw the phone on the bed. By the time I was out of the bathroom the phone was all chewed up! Argghhh. No more puppies EVER. (They are worth it though! :)
