Day 11 Low Carb

inMa Vie

(comments are closed)

This morning I decided to get on the scale to see what damage wine gum hell did to my Friday weigh in. Surprisingly it showed 211.2lbs, which is an additional 1.2lbs down. I don’t what happened, but I will not look a gift horse in the mouth.

Today’s menu looked like this:

Breaky – 2 egg omelette with red pepper, red onion and peameal bacon
Lunch – chicken breast with cauliflower
    Dinner – veggie plate

I really wasn’t hungry for dinner tonight but knew I should eat something so I made up a veggie plate (seen below) and enjoyed it with the pups.

I did get in a bit of exercise tonight; instead of plunking my buttocks on the couch right after work, I walked in, quickly changed and grabbed the pups and went to the dog park for just a little over an hour. Throwing ball, chasing the ball and generally enjoying the nice weather.

Wine Gum Hell

inUncategorized

My father came down on Wednesday for some family stuff and left this morning. On Thursday at lunch I had gone grocery shopping so that he could eat something other than chicken, salad or eggs which is what I’ve been eating. I picked him up some salt & vinegar chips which I had none of (yay!) and Maynard wine gums in a huge bag. This was my weekend downfall as I kept putting my hand in the bag snacking.

Wine gums are definitely not low carb or actually diet food. I did try to negate the intake of said wine gums by only eating one meal (large egg omelette) which was easy to do. I didn’t eat the wine gums because I was hungry (eating because I am hungry is not my issue, I eat for taste or boredom) but because they were there and like Dad, one of my favourite candies. The reason it was easy was because I had woken up around 11am, got dressed and immediately took the dogs to the dog park to enjoy the sunshiney day. We are usually there for 2+ hours and when I got home I started cleaning. With two dogs who shed and one who I swear loses himself in fur every two days (i.e. today I vacuumed twice). So it was around 5pm before I even thought of eating.

Anyways, Saturday equalled wine gym hell and today…perfectly low carb. I am ready for tomorrow as I have premade my omelette and on Saturday cooked up 6 chicken breasts to use in my lunches this week.

Here’s to another successful week (sans wine gums of course).

What are wine gums? I’m intrigued by anything with the word wine in it. ;)

It’s good to enjoy stuff you normally don’t every now and then. And whooo! for you for getting back on plan right away!!

    Hi Tara, see this link:

Oh I definitely think you should never do with out. If you want something, have it else you will go overboard with it. But the wine gums? Way overboard on them.

Weigh Day 1

inUncategorized

(comments are closed)

Despite my site name, I have been trying to not get on the scale every day this time around. I did get on the scale Wednesday to 213lbs and was happy to see that and continued on.

Today for my official weigh in I am down 3.8lbs to 212.4lbs :) I am quite pleased with that. It could have been lower (maybe) had I not had shredded wheat cereal twice this week for dinner, but I wasn’t in the mood for any type of protein and the cereal hit the spot with no splurging or snacking thereafter so I was okay with that. 3.8lbs is nothing to scoff at either so I’m a happy girl :)

Day 4 Oops

inUncategorized

(comments are closed)

Last night I had a bowl of cereal (shredded wheat) as nothing low carb was enticing. I just wasn’t feeling well so instead of freakin’ at myself because it was only day 4 of trying to eat low carb I was ‘cheating’ I didn’t let it bother me at all.

This morning, right back on the low carb wagon with my morning omelette and chicken and french styled beans for lunch :) Dinner I think will be a salad topped with tuna.

I did fall out of ketosis (of course wheat and milk will do that) but I’m good. The scale showed 213lbs this morning :)

Day 3

inUncategorized

(comments are closed)

The plan tonight was to cook up the 5 chicken breasts I bought on the weekend. Tonight was the first time I used my new oven and wow, it is a great one! I seasoned the chicken with some ground salt and pepper and then when they were almost done, split them down the middle and added some salsa to it. I then let them finish baking and had dinner:

While dinner was cooking I got together tomorrow’s breakfast (2 eggs, red pepper and peameal bacon):

By the way, dinner was delish!

My menu was:
Breaky:  2 eggs with red pepper
Lunch:  caesar salad (sans croutons) and a large dry pepperoni
Dinner:  chicken breast with salasa and brussel sprouts

If I get hungry later I will have another pepperoni or maybe some cucumber and celery.

Today was a great low carb day.

  • Zorbs

wow, that’s like…less than half the food I eat in a day.

And I weigh 100 pounds less than you.
